INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS AND EXHIBITION ON OCEAN ENERGY & DEEP OCEAN WATER APPLICATION (DOWA) 4th – 6th MAY 2011

Renewable energy sources, such as water energy and the energy that comes from the sea (ocean energy), which is environmentally benign energy sources, can be utilized effectively as the potential alternative to substitute the rapidly depleting fossil fuel. Since Indonesia is a vast archipelago country, ocean energy technologies should play an important role in the future.
In order to find more effective ways and means for successful implementation of ocean energy technology to face the current energy crisis, Darma Persada University and Saga University, Japan are planning to conduct a congress. The congress will discuss the state of the art of ocean energy applications in the developing countries, especially in ASEAN region, the barriers for further development and lesson learnt from some successful countries and also focus on how to find ways and means for innovative financing of ocean energy programs the congress can be used as an arena to encourge young generation engineers and scientists to actively participate in accelerating the achievement of Millenium Development Goals (MDGs).
